Overview

Description

The US082-SSC3224EVZ evaluation board demonstrates the functionality and performance of the ZSSC3224 high-end, 24-bit sensor signal conditioner IC. The ZSSC3224 is designed for high-accuracy amplification and analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) of differential or pseudo-differential input signals. The evaluation board features a generic design, allowing customers to integrate the sensor into their specific applications.

The board provides a standard Pmod™ Type 6A (extended I2C) connection, enabling the onboard sensor to interface with any compatible MCU evaluation kit equipped with a matching connector. The US082-SSC3224EVZ board can also be added to the end of a daisy-chain consisting of multiple Type 6/6A devices connected to the same MCU Pmod connector.

Features

  • Flexible, programmable analog front-end design with up to a 24-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC)
  • Fully programmable gain amplifier for optimizing sensor signals; gain range from 6.6 to 216 (linear)
  • Internal auto-compensated 18-bit temperature sensor
  • Digital compensation of individual sensor offset; first- and second-order digital compensation of sensor gain, as well as first- and second-order temperature gain and offset drift
  • Programmable interrupt operation
  • High-speed sensing (e.g., 18-bit conditioned sensor signal measurement rate >200 s-1)
  • Typical sensor elements can achieve an accuracy better than ±0.10% full-scale output (FSO) over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C
  • Integrated 26-bit calibration math digital signal processor (DSP)
  • Standardized Type 6A Pmod™ connector
  • I2C/SMBus extended interface
