Overview
Description
The TW9984 includes four high quality NTSC/PAL/SECAM video decoders that convert analog composite video signal to digital component YCbCr data. Each channel contains a 10-bit ADC with application selectable differential or single-ended analog video input options, proprietary clamp and gain controllers and utilizes 4H comb filter for separating luminance and chrominance to reduce cross noise artifacts. The TW9984 adopts the image enhancement techniques, such as IF compensation filter, CTI and programmable peaking. TW9984 also includes an NTSC/PAL video encoder with a 10-bit DAC to support CVBS output.

Does the TW9984 support differential CVBS inputs?
Question: Does the TW9984 support differential CVBS inputs, as there are 8 analog video input pins? Answer: Yes, TW9984 supports differential CVBS inputs as well as pseudo differential CVBS (when the negative wire is actually used as a ground) and traditional single-ended CVBS inputs.

How does the TW9984 send 4 asynchronous video signals over a single digital 8-bit BT.656 parallel interface?
Question: How does the TW9984 send 4 asynchronous video signals over a single digital 8-bit BT.656 parallel interface? Answer: The TW9984 has an internal PLL that can generate a 108 MHz output. This output takes the 4 asynchronous 27 MHz video channels and time division multiplexes them at ...
