Description
Crowdsourced Locationing (CSL) has reached a hyperscale level thanks to the availability of Apple's Find My™ network and, more recently, Google's Find My Device network. These networks enable the location of lost or stolen valuables using billions of smartphones worldwide.
To simplify and accelerate the implementation of CSL into end products, Renesas offers SDKs for both Google Find My Device and Apple Find My™ networks. These SDKs are based on our DA14592 and DA14592MOD, along with hardware design examples, such as our Bluetooth® Low Energy Tags for Crowdsourced Location Tracking design, and support tools for demonstration and application development. The DA14592 provides a cost-competitive solution with best-in-class power consumption, ensuring the longest battery life or discovery time when lost. The DA14592MOD comes with worldwide regulatory certification, simplifying design and shortening time to market. With Renesas example designs, you can quickly implement a CSL tracking tag that is easily configured to support both Google’s Find My Device and Apple’s Find My™ networks, making it compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones.
Integrating Crowdsourced Locationing into End Products
Beyond tracker tags for keys, pets, or other items, Renesas' DA14592 and DA14592MOD can be easily integrated into end products like e-bikes, power tools, drones, cameras, suitcases, and sunglasses. This integration adds value to the end customer by enabling the location of these products when lost or stolen. Operating virtually stand-alone from your existing product’s functionality, adding CSL and enabling your product to be found anywhere on the planet couldn’t be simpler.
