Overview

Description

The RL78/G13 microcontrollers balance the industry's lowest level of consumption current (CPU: 66 μA/MHz, standby (STOP): 230 nA) and a high performance of 43.2 DMIPS (32 MHz). They have an on-chip oscillator, data flash, A/D converter, and more. Built-in safety features (function that detects illegal operation of hardware) enable support for the household appliance safety standard (IEC/UL 60730). These microcontrollers can be used in a wide variety of applications from home and consumer appliances to industrial equipment.

FAQs

  1. Can the RL78/G13 control an SPI using the SAU?

It is possible for the RL78/G13 to control an SPI. Set the SAU of the RL78 to CSI (3-line serial), and also prepare one port for using for the CS signal. Make the CS signal low before starting SPI communication, carry out communication using CSI, and after ...

  2. E0204001, E1200416 Error (CS+, E1, RSK for RL78/G13)

This error occurs when the versions of the monitor program written the RL78/G13 on the CPU Board and E1 debugger monitor program are different. Immediately after the error occured, disconnect the USB cable from the E1 debugger to reset the state of the E1 debugger, then reconnect the ...

  3. Where to find the register that selects the timer output in RL78/G13?

An example of a circuit of the block diagram for pin output of the RL78 is shown. In general, port output and SAU output, TAU output, and other output are assigned to each pin. In the RL78, there is normally no built-in register for switching between these outputs. These ...
