Description

The PTX130R NFC reader IC featuring native support for the Android™ OS operating environment provides an ideal way to add NFC communications capability to embedded computing systems built around a touchscreen display.

In parallel to traditional NFC Forum or Point of Sale (PoS) operations, the PTX130R Android SW stack (based on NCI 2.x) supports also the “Soft PoS” (PoS terminals without secure MCU) and Apple VAS/ECP functionalities (extension module) with the capability to seamlessly switch between them.

The PTX130R features a very high RF output power of up to 2W at the antenna, providing robust interoperability and enabling OEMs to achieve compliance also with the strict requirements of the EMVCo standard for PoS or Soft PoS application, even when operating via an NFC antenna that is placed close to or behind a noisy display.
