Description

The Go-To Platform for Robust, Low-Power DECT Wireless Audio

This platform offers a highly integrated solution for high-quality and fixed low-latency wireless audio applications supporting sample frequencies up to 48kHz.  It supports point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and multipoint-to-point audio and data channels, targeting wireless headsets (Lync compliant), headphones, speakers, subwoofers, and microphones.

Long Range and Interference Free

Utilizing DECT's robust, interference-free 1.9GHz frequency band with virtual worldwide coverage, combined with Renesas' +120dB link budget enables robust and interference-free, high-quality audio transmission unsurpassed by technologies operating in the overcrowded 2.4GHz ISM band. Wireless communication technologies using the 2.4GHz ISM band, like Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth®, and proprietary solutions, but also home appliances (e.g., microwave ovens) make reliable, low latency communication more and more challenging up to the point where it can become impossible.

Wireless Low Latency HiFi Audio

The combination of DECT, with its isochronous nature, and the Opus Custom HiFi audio codec provides a perfect solution for robust, high quality, fixed low latency wireless audio applications. In addition to the Opus Custom audio codec, G.726 and G.722 narrowband and wideband voice codecs are supported as well as acoustic echo cancellation, noise reduction, and microphone and speaker equalization.

The SmartBeat™ wireless audio solutions will come with a pre-engineered audio application supporting wireless headsets, headphones, speakers, and microphones. It can be tuned and customized to the desired look and feel of the end product. A tuning and configuration tool provides an easy way to tailor all configuration, tuning, and USB parameters.
