Arduino recently announced a new microcontroller board, the Arduino UNO R4.
The Arduino UNO R4 uses the RA4M1, which contains a 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4 core, enabling it to perform higher performance processing than ever before.

At the same time, do you know that the RL78/G23-64p Fast Prototyping Board and RL78/G22 Fast Prototyping Board have been added to the Arduino IDE as a standard?
In fact, the RL78 Family has supported the Arduino environment as a compatible board for about 10 years, and since the RL78/G23, the second generation of the RL78, Arduino compatibility has been the standard for evaluation boards. The RL78/G23-64p Fast Prototyping Board is the first board in the RL78 Family to offer access to all pins and an Arduino UNO compatible interface. However previous users had to manually add the RL78 to the BOARDS MANAGER when using the Arduino IDE.
The RL78/G23-64p Fast Prototyping Board and RL78/G22 Fast Prototyping Board have now been added as standards to the BOARDS MANAGER in the Arduino IDE, lowering the bar for development even further.
Try typing "RL78" in BOARDS MANAGER in the Arduino IDE version.
You will see the information for RL78/G23-64p Fast Prototyping Board and RL78/G22 Fast Prototyping Board. After that, just click the INSTALL button. It's easy!

In addition to the RL78/G23-64p Fast Prototyping Board and RL78/G22 Fast Prototyping Board introduced earlier, the RL78/G15 Fast Prototyping Board is also supported by Arduino for the RL78 family. More boards of the RL78 family will be supported by Arduino in the future. Please check GitHub for more information.

In addition, an application note (RL78/G23 HS300x Sample sketch (Arduino™ sketch)) is now available for the RL78/G23-64p Fast Prototyping Board and the US082-HS3001EVZ with the HS3001 temperature and humidity sensor to communicate using Wire Library.

You can see the values acquired from the HS3001 sensor on the Arduino IDE on the serial monitor!
We will continue to expand the application notes for Arduino.

The Renesas Engineering Community (user community page) also lists Arduino-compatible software. We would like to thank the forum members. Please visit them.
