Overview

Description

Although AC motor fans have dominated in the market, brushless DC (BLDC) motor fans also have many advantages, and are becoming increasingly popular. BLDC motor fans overcome the challenges of regular (AC induction motor) fans, such as over-heating, speed fluctuation, lack of remote control features, and inefficiency. BLDC motor fans have higher energy efficiency, a longer service life, lower power consumption and low noise. These BLDC motors can also provide more than 10 levels of multi-stage speed control or stepless speed regulation.

This design incorporates the RL78/G14 microcontroller with three-phase complementary PWM outputs that are suitable for BLDC motor control. Additionally, the high-performance power and analog system utilizes Renesas DC/DC, op amps and MOSFETs to ensure the quality and stability of this application.

System Benefits:

  • High-function general-purpose microcontrollers suitable for BLDC motor control
  • High-performance DC/DC, op amps and MOSFETs for an integrated solution
