Description
As e-Mobility increasingly becomes part of daily life, there is a growing need for more efficient charging solutions. High-power off-board chargers are the functional blocks for supporting battery pack solutions. This charger combination works on a universal input range and uses a high-end MCU to control power factor correction (PFC) and manage the zero voltage switching (ZVS) – the half-bridge switching converter sitting on the secondary side of the system. The MCU offers better and more secure control of the output parameters and its CAN interface helps customers to target a wide range of customer bases.
System Benefits:
- The PFC IC R2A20112ASP adopts critical conduction mode for interleaved PFC
- Difficult to copy as the ZVS stage is controlled via the MCU
- Digital controller protections and features like UVLO, OVP, OCP, OTP, and inrush current
- Upgradable to higher current systems with an option to add sync rectification on the secondary side
- CAN/SPI implementation to connect to smart network cards for telematics.
