Overview
Description
The power supply system with a supercapacitor supports a wide input voltage range from 3V to 40V, delivering an output current of 2.5A. This system serves as an alternative to traditional batteries, avoiding issues such as electrolyte leakage, and functions as a reliable backup power source. In boost mode, the buck-boost regulator effectively discharges capacitor energy, maximizing capacitive energy use and reducing costs. The system achieves a discharge efficiency of up to 82% at a 100mA output and maintains over 50% efficiency when delivering a 1A output. It integrates a high-performance low-dropout regulator (LDO), high-efficiency MOSFET, and precise voltage supervisor, resulting in a robust power management system.
System Benefits:
- The regulator can fully extract the power of the supercapacitor, operating efficiently at low voltages.
- The voltage supervisor monitors the power status.
- The high-performance LDO offers a low supply current and a high power supply rejection ratio.
- The N-MOSFET supports high-efficiency drive and low heat generation.
