QE for Display: A Dedicated Tool for Displays
This development assistance tool supports the development of embedded systems which use the LCD display functions of display controllers from Renesas. It supports MCUs of the RZ and RX families.
TopicsWe have updated QE for Display[RZ] (Previous product name: QE for Video Display Controller 5), a tool for adjusting the display interfaces of RZ MCUs to suit display panels. The tool newly supports the camera connections of RZ/A based systems.

QE for Display is one of several solution toolkits which operate within the e² studio integrated development environment.
This product can shorten times to develop embedded systems that include image display through the Video Display Controller 5 (VDC5) in the case of the RZ family and the graphics LCD controller (GLCDC) in the case of the RX family, since QE for Display makes initial adjustment of the display easy to handle.
HMI application development is strongly supported by linkage with the RZ/A Software Development Kit (SDK for Camera) sold separately.
Easy to settings for LCD panel timing in a dedicated view
Timing settings which match the refresh rate specification of the display are easy to obtain while checking on the actual display. If a setting is not set to a correct value needed for LCD spec, it is marked error and the user can find problems simply.

Easy to settings for image quality adjustment by a slider
This tool supports various image quality adjustment functions. You can easily adjust the images while checking the actual display. QE for Video Display Controller 5 for the RZ family supports the adjustment of brightness, contrast, sharpness, gamma correction, and dithering, as well as the rotation and mirroring of images. QE for Display[RX] supports processing to make the settings from calibration routes, brightness, thorough contrast, to gamma correction, and then dithering.

Complex gamma correction can be easily set with the dedicated GUI.
Checking the handy block diagram helps you to move around the settings screen without getting confused.

You can check the settings on the real display
Writes the settings to registers by 1 button, and you can check the view in the actual LCD panel. This tool has the mode that the changes will be automatically written to registers every time a setting is changed.
Generates a header file which reflects the settings for a project
When you finished the settings, generates a header file which reflects the settings and into the project directly. QE for VDC5 can operate in conjunction with the Supporting Sample Program.
