RZ/A QE for Video Display Controller 5 [Technical Preview Edition]
This is a debugging assistance tool for developing systems which use the Video Display Controller 5.
We have started to supply a demonstration version of a tool for LCD control by RX MCUs. This tool, QE for Display[RX], is to be officially released in January 2018.
The tool supports the display connections of RX65N- or RX651-based systems. The demo version provides two functions, timing adjustment and image-quality adjustment, which simplify the complexity of display connections. Be sure to try it out.

QE for Video Display Controller 5 (QE for VDC5) is one of several solution tool kits which operate under the e² studio integrated development environment.
This product can shorten times for developing embedded systems with image display which use the Video Display Controller 5 (VDC5) module of RZ families, since adjustment of the initial screen is easily handled with the QE for VDC5.
Easy to settings for LCD panel timing in a dedicated view
Timing settings which match the refresh rate specification of the display are easy to obtain while checking on the actual display. If a setting is not set to a correct value needed for LCD spec, it is marked error and the user can find problems simply.
Easy to settings for image quality adjustment by a slider
Support for the image quality adjustment function of VDC5 has been added. QE for VDC5 allows brightness, contrast, rotation/mirror image, sharpness, gamma correction, and dither processing to be easily adjusted and contributes to shortening the development period in early development.
Complex gamma correction can be easily set with the dedicated GUI.
You can move on the setting screen without confusion while checking the block diagram of VDC5.
You can check the settings on the real display
Writes the settings to registers by 1 button, and you can check the view in the actual LCD panel. This tool has the mode that the changes will be automatically written to registers every time a setting is changed.
Generates a header file which reflects the settings for a project
When you finished the settings, generates a header file which reflects the settings and into the project directly. QE for VDC5 can operate in conjunction with the Supporting Sample Program.
