Overview
Description
Renesas empowers Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 suppliers to define the electrical/electronic (E/E) architecture for next-generation vehicles, such as connected cars. This design integrates the high-performance R-Car family System-on-Chip (SoC) with an MCU, featuring advanced real-time capabilities and 16MB flash memory. This powerful combination delivers exceptional processing power to manage a wide array of communication channels.
System Benefits:
- Supports a variety of physical network interfaces, including Gigabit Ethernet, High-Speed Serial Interface (HSSI), 16-channel Controller Area Network Flexible Data-Rate (CAN FD), 24-channel Local Interconnect Network (LIN), Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART), FlexRay, Single Edge Nibble Transmission (SENT), and Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST).
 - Utilizes R-Car Gen3 SoC to manage high-level application software based on Linux, Adaptive Automotive Open System Architecture (AUTOSAR), and Classic AUTOSAR, enabling flexible and future-proof designs.
 - High-performance, multi-connectivity MCU manages real-time tasks and communication with other ECUs (gateway controller).
 - Incorporates highly integrated power management ICs that ensure ISO 26262 compliant power supplies, optimized for the SoC to reduce bill of material (BOM) costs while providing industry-leading efficiency.
