Overview
Description
Renesas' Vehicle Control Unit reference design enables seamless adoptions of Software-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) frameworks. With standard and Gb Ethernet interfaces, we support OEMs in implementing zonal architectures efficiently. For entry-level and commercial vehicles, this design functions as a central compute or gateway, leveraging its multi-core architecture and performance headroom. Compliant with functional safety (FuSA) standards from ASIL B to ASIL D, it empowers reliable system integration while addressing the growing complexity of modern vehicle networks.
Features
- The wireless communication board (AS049-1-REIN-WCB-V1) enhances this reference design with connected vehicle technologies, including seamless integration of 4G, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth Low Energy for robust connectivity.
- "No Wait" Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, supported by the U2A architecture, enable rapid and uninterrupted software updates.
- Onboard Embedded Multi-Media Card (eMMC) delivers high-capacity storage, supporting a wide range of use cases.
