Factory Automation and control systems are evolving at faster pace with focus on optimization. Customers face the challenge of additions and upgrades to existing topology in the factory. More components are added to factory automation and control systems. The end result is equipment miniaturization to add capacity to limited space constraint.

In our previous blog (RX72M Wide Range of Motor Control Applications via EtherCAT Communication), we introduced RX72M solution features. Now, we will introduce one of the solutions, RX72M Group Resolver stepper motor control using EtherCAT Communications.

Renesas provides low cost and high integration option for BOM reduction, Space saving and efficiency for motion control using CiA 402 in Variable frequency drives, Servo Drives and stepper drives. (A profile for drives and motion control). Solution offers BOM reduction, space saving, easy way to realize CiA402. It combines MCU + resolver digital converter IC (RDC IC) on single board. Our solution, RX72M Resolver stepping motor control using EtherCAT Communications enables customer to use CiA402 by RX72M in effective and low cost, and this solution combines stepper motor control using EtherCAT very effectively and easy to use by end customer.
