Renesas HVAC (air conditioning) system solutions provide convenience and energy efficiency through motor control and sensing technologies. This HVAC system utilizes the Renesas Synergy™ Platform, a complete and qualified system solution for highly sophisticated embedded applications such as building automation (BA). It makes it possible to quickly deliver optimized solutions to meet constantly changing technology needs such as performance, power efficiency and design flexibility. The platform includes fully integrated software, unified development tools, a scalable family of microcontrollers (MCUs), and a broad ecosystem of partners.

The Renesas Synergy™ microcontroller family uses the Arm® Cortex®-M core, and is designed to be scalable across the series, allowing code to be reused. In addition, along with easy to implement connectivity features and a human machine interface, it has robust security and safety features, as well as a wide range of peripheral functions that can be adapted to a variety of embedded systems. The Synergy MCUs used for HVAC systems offer motor control solutions that include a PWM timer, HAL direct access to timer functions (SSP), safety functions, as well as an A/D converter, D/A converter and comparator; interface solutions such as a graphic LCD controller and capacitive touch sensing; connectivity solutions that include priority connection interface, Wi-Fi framework, BACnet stack VSA, and Renesas' RL78/G1D Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) chipset; and sensing solutions such as a temperature sensor, an analog data collection framework, A/D converter, D/A converter, PGA, comparator, and a digital sensor interface.
