This battery-less beacon demo and beacon information update demo use the low power Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) technology of the RL78/G1D microcontroller. In the battery-less beacon demo, a beacon is transmitted using the electromotive force generated from the push of a button. An Eddystone-URL beacon is installed in the beacon data, and beacon data for accessing a webpage from a smartphone is transmitted. The beacon information update demo offers a mechanism that can rewrite beacon information (channel, advertising data, and interval) even at shipment using Renesas' GATTBrowser iOS app.
