Overview

Network cameras can be used not only for surveillance and recording, but also as intelligent sensing devices in combination with intelligent image analysis. A camera that is equipped with a Renesas RZ Family high-end MPU can realize facial and vehicle identification (license plate number detection) by image analysis by itself. By linking cameras with parking facility equipment such as entrance gates or guidance lights through a network, you can build safer and more efficient parking management systems.
Renesas is continuing to work on solutions that enable real-time and efficient coordinated control of equipment by accumulating and utilizing information about people and things collected by various sensing devices (end point devices) such as network camera.
The parking control solution makes decisions based on information such as the parking space itself and the positions of nearby people and vehicles, and guides the vehicle to park safely and quickly. This enables parking facilities to become safer and more energy saving, and to reduce costs.
