Overview

Network cameras are used not only for surveillance and recording, but also as intelligent sensing devices combined with intelligent image analysis. A camera that is equipped with a Renesas RZ Family high-end MPU can realize facial recognition by image analysis by itself. By coordinating a camera with a gate control device through a network, you can build a gate control or security gate system that doesn’t require physical security cards or keys. Moreover, a variety of services can be realized by changing the combination of camera image analysis algorithms and end devices.
Renesas is continuing to work on solutions that enable real-time and efficient coordinated control of equipment by accumulating and utilizing information about people and things collected by various sensing devices (end point devices) such as network camera.
As an example, the access control solution can not only unlock a door by facial recognition, but can also provide information that is specific to that user by using accumulated information and the cloud. Thus, by coordinating with a wearable device equipped with a BLE beacon or devices in the room such as lighting or air conditioning equipment, more comfortable services can be provided in accordance with the user’s preferences.
