Thermoelectric Peltier controllers are applications that sense and control temperature using Peltier elements. From the functional block viewpoint, Analog Front End (AFE) and the microcontroller (MCU) receive sensor signals from the thermocouple and RTD sensors, and the MCU controls the temperature of the Peltier elements.

Peltier controllers control temperature by cooling and heating, and are widely used in consumer and industrial applications for temperature control features of end sets.

Renesas offers the RX23E-A MCU, which integrates high-precision AFE and can cover sensor signal conditioning, signal processing, Peltier control and communication with a single chip.
