Overview

Renesas’ RL78/L1x Series of microcontrollers (MCUs) provides low power consumption and are equipped with a universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) and I2C (inter-integrated circuit) serial communication functions. Additional functions, such as an LCD drive circuit, on-chip oscillator (OCO), watchdog timer (WDT), and real-time clock (RTC) substantially reduce the number of external components required by a pedometer. This contributes to a compact design and lower cost.
