This is the development kit for CPU modules equipped with Renesas’ RZ/G1H-PF CPU.

iWave Japan Co., Ltd., an embedded product and solution provider, has begun offering a System-On-Module (SOM) for the Qseven R2.0-compliant industrial applications module that is equipped with the RZ/G1H, the latest microprocessor (MPU) from Renesas Electronics Corporation. The module supports expandable 1-GB DDR3 RAM, 4-GB eMMC, and 2-MB SPI NOR flash. Also, it includes the Gigabit Ethernet PHY, 10/100 Ethernet PHY, Micro SD slot, USB HUB, and an DMI transmitter, together with Linux BSP support.

Renesas’ RZ/G1H MPU is a heterogeneous octa-core that integrates a quad core Arm^® Cortex^®-A15 processor running at 1.4 GHz and a quad core Arm^® Cortex^®-A7 processor running at 780 MHz. In addition to the raw computing power of octa-core, the RZ/G1H MPU boasts a wide variety of high-performance built-in features. The RZ/G1H MPU supports 64-bit DDR3-1600 memory chips, as well as peripheral controllers, including Gigabit Ethernet, 10/100 Ethernet, SD interface, USB 3.0, PCI express 2.0, SATA 3.1, and LVDS.

In addition to these powerful MPU features, it also includes a PowerVR^®G6400 3D graphics core (520 MHz) from Imagination Technologies, Ltd., and a built-in dual-channel full HD encode and decode multimedia codec. The MPU also supports 4-channel video input and 3-channel video output. These powerful graphics capabilities make the RZ/G1H MPU an ideal choice for graphics-heavy multimedia applications. The high-performance RZ/G1H-based module enables the development of a variety of devices for multimedia-heavy applications, such as video and still image analysis, entertainment, digital signage, real-time image recognition, video surveillance, network cameras, advanced HMI, office equipment, and smart terminals.
