Renesas' ultra-low power RL78/L1A 16-bit microcontrollers (MCUs) have on-chip high-precision 12-bit A/D converters, a programmable gain rail-to-rail amplifier with analog switch, a D/A converter, and a voltage reference, ideal for blood glucose level measurement. They also integrate peripheral functions such as LCD control, oscillator and Flash memory required for a blood glucose monitor. This helps to reduce overall cost and extend battery life.
