The combination of Renesas MCU and automotive high-definition link (AHL) devices enables the use of only a twisted pair cable for video transmission and control camera systems such as rear camera, surround view and electronic door mirror.

The block diagram shows a system example using a blower to remove water droplets from the camera lens in rainy weather.

System Benefits​:

  • The I2C signal that controls the blower motor can be superimposed on the video signal of the Renesas video transmission system AHL. Therefore, data transmission is possible only with the twisted pair cable, contributing to low cost and light weight.
  • Shorten development period and cost by using the AHL camera and evaluation board, which provide an environment for quick and easy development.
