Overview

Description

The Talking Pen solution reads code printed on paper and plays the corresponding audio. Using the industry's smallest low-power RL78/G14 microcontroller, the ID decoder and image sensor reproduce sound files corresponding to the scanned content. Audio data can be saved from a PC to a Micro SD card with a USB cable. It uses the ISL80505 single output low dropout voltage regulator (LDO) capable of providing up to 500mA of output current from an input voltage of 1. 8V to 6V. Battery charge control is performed by the ISL6294 high input voltage charger.
