Independent Entity, Appointment of Local Leadership and New Laboratory Exhibit Renesas’ Further Commitment and Next Phase of Growth in India
Tokyo, Japan ― Renesas Electronics Corporation (TSE:6723), a premier supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, today announced that the operation of Renesas Electronics India Pvt. Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Renesas Electronics Singapore Pte. Ltd., will be strengthened as part of the company’s strategy. Under the sales strategy of “Deeper and Broader”, the backbone of Renesas’ growth strategy, Renesas is increasing the range of its value-added, full system solutions offered to existing and new customers across a vast array of high growth markets. As part of these initiatives, new local leadership was appointed, and the Renesas India entity will become independent. In addition, Renesas India’ newly established local System and Solution Engineering Team (SST) will develop unique, easy to use products that meet the needs of customers. Furthermore, Renesas India’s campus will be expanded to include a comprehensive laboratory to develop optimal solutions.
Renesas has approached India as being one of the many countries that make up Renesas’ southeastern Asian markets. India’s rapid market growth is becoming increasingly crucial for Renesas’ sales strategy, with many new emerging segments such as telecommunication, renewable energy and IoT, as well as existing high growth segments including electric vehicles (EV) and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). Renesas is reassigning its focus on India by strengthening its local operations and cooperating with local distributors to maximize growth opportunities.
In order to successfully implement the new changes, Renesas has appointed Susanta Sengupta as the President of Renesas India. Susanta has over 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with a rich background in analog products in numerous global semiconductor companies. Srikhanth Nagaraj has also been appointed as the Head of Sales and the SST in India. Srikhanth has over 25 years of experience and a successful track record of strategic, technical and tactical leadership in various global semiconductor companies. The appointment of local leadership will ensure faster and effective delivery of locally-appropriate decision making.
In addition, Renesas’ office in India will be relocated to a larger campus in Bengaluru. The new campus will accommodate more space and a comprehensive laboratory facility for development and testing of products and system solutions aimed for the local market. Renesas will also establish a local SST to develop unique system solutions tailored for the Indian market that best fit the needs of customers across India.

The recent acquisition of Dialog Semiconductor Plc enables Renesas to offer customers an even broader range of solutions with a robust product line up. Renesas also announced that it will acquire Celeno Communications Inc. to expand its connectivity portfolio and engineering footprint across India and Israel. These initiatives, in addition to the establishment of the local SST, will give customers in India better access to the extended product portfolio and necessary support within the sales channel. Customers will gain better access to over 260 Winning Combinations, 39 of which already combines Renesas and Dialog products, showcasing the instant benefit customers can experience through comprehensive solution offerings. Renesas is set to offer more Winning Combinations catered towards India through the local SST.
