The SH7761 is equipped with an SH-4A core. This 32-bit microprocessor delivers twice the performance of the previous Renesas product, the SH7760, a maximum performance of 720 MIPS (at 400 MHz operation), which is suitable for car information systems such as handsfree devices.

Connectivity with functions essential for next-generation telematics and handsfree devices, including high-speed communication, sophisticated voice recognition, in-vehicle LANs, and memory cards, has been improved.
