IDT’s Industry-leading RapidIO Gen2 Switch Selected for 25 Percent to 100 Percent Performance Improvement over Other Embedded Interconnect Solutions for MicroTCA

SAN JOSE, Calif., February 16, 2012 – Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) (NASDAQ: IDTI), the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, today announced that the IDT CPS-1848 Gen2 RapidIO® switch has been selected by VadaTech Inc., a leading provider of innovative hardware solutions for embedded systems markets, for its UTC002 MicroTCA Carrier Hub (MCH) switch cards. VadaTech selected IDT’s RapidIO switch for the key benefits in throughput, latency, carrier-grade reliability, quality of service and overall system power usage.

          VadaTech chose Serial RapidIO (S-RIO) because the protocol is optimized for embedded applications and high-performance backplanes. With the CPS-1848, VadaTech is able to deliver double the performance of 10 GbE solutions and 25 percent better performance than its PCIe Gen2 solutions. The IDT S-RIO switch offers 20 Gbps of bandwidth per link, 100 ns cut-through latency, 240 Gbps of aggregate non-blocking switch performance, robust fault tolerance and hot-swap support, and built-in reliable transmission. These performance, reliability and power advantages are essential in servicing VadaTech’s customer base in wireless, industrial, military, imaging and high-performance computing markets.
