Overview

CDI

Capacitive Discharge Ignition (CDI) is used widely in small Petrol/Gasoline Engines for generating precise spark timings. This method of ignition employs the capacitor for storing the energy and discharges it into EHT coil which generates high voltage across the spark plug and generates the spark for combustion. Precise spark timings will ensure the proper combustion of air-fuel mixture to maximize the fuel efficiency and power of the particular engine as well as to meet the emission norms and regulations. CDI is widely used in Automobile engines, Small AC/DC Generator, Lawn movers, etc.

 

OBD

On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) is an automotive term referring to a vehicle's self-diagnostic and reporting capability. OBD systems give the vehicle owner or repair technician access to the status of the various vehicle subsystems. Modern OBD means OBD2 implementations use a standardized digital communications port to provide real-time data in addition to a standardized series of diagnostic trouble codes, or DTCs, which allow one to rapidly identify and remedy malfunctions within the vehicle. It also provides almost complete engine control.
