Renesas Starter Kit+ for RX63N

The Renesas Starter Kit+ for RX63N is intended as a user-friendly introductory and evaluation tool for the RX63N microcontroller.

The board also provides a useful platform for evaluating the Renesas suite of development tools for coding and debugging, using High-performance Embedded Workshop*1 as well as programming the device using E1 emulator and/or Flash Development Toolkit.

*1 You can use the Renesas Starter Kit+ for RX63N in CubeSuite+. Please download the evaluation version of CubeSuite+ from here and sample code for CubeSuite+ from here.

The Renesas Starter Kit+ for RX63N has been developed speed up code development and reduce time to market.
An Renesas Starter Kit+, as the name suggests, is a complete development kit for Renesas microcontrollers.

Product Limitation

Renesas Starter Kit+ for RX63N Product Limitation (19 Nov 2012)

A limitation exists with the board used on a batch of Renesas Starter Kit+ for RX63N Products.

Serial Numbers Affected: 00039142 to 00039393 and 00038254 to 00038313 inclusive.

After the RSK+RX63N board is turned on without connecting with an E1 debugger, Ethernet communication may not work properly.

The Ethernet PHY device does not receive a correct reset signal after the board is turned on unless the E1 is connected or the reset switch is pressed. This results in the PHY device being incorrectly configured preventing Ethernet communication.

After turning ON the board, press the 'RES' reset switch on the board to reset the PHY device.
