The explosive development of the global network infrastructure and the increasing popularity of portable devices enable many opportunities for multimedia contents to be widely distributed. Many new applications are also emerging on these portable devices. The core SoC for these devices are demanded to provide higher functionalities while meeting extremely challenging power budget: the requirements to compete for a larger share in today's ever changing portable device markets.
Renesas Electronics' EMMA Mobile series target to address the requirements for these markets, integrating all the necessary ingredients for the next generation portable multimedia devices: multi-core processor technologies, industry leading power managements, latest digital audio/video encoding/decoding support, and extensive connectivity peripherals.
System development kit "EMMA Mobile" now available
