Product Overview:

The SH7710 Group is made up of the SH7710, SH7712 and SH7713. The group incorporates a RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) MCU with a 32-bit SH3-DSP CPU core. The SH3-DSP instruction set is upwardly compatible with the SH-1 and SH-2. The cache memory is 4-way set associative with large capacity 32-byte instructions/data mixed format. Support for various operating systems is possible using the on-chip memory management unit.

The SH7710 Group has a bus state controller on-chip and so can connect synchronous DRAM. A 2-Channel media access controller for Ethernet is also on-chip (The SH7713 is 1-channel). 2-kbyte FIFO is on-chip for both Ethernet signal reception and transmission. Additionally, the SH7710 has an IPsec accelerator on-chip making processing of encrypted communication more effective. The SH7712 and SH7713 do not have an IPsec accelerator.

      (1): IPsec: Security for Internet Protocol. A method whereby security is implemented in the IP layer.
      (2): 3DES: Triple Data Encryption Standard. DES encryption processing is applied in triplicate to ensure secure encryption.
