Design kits
Renesas has developed a robust and mature methodology for shipping IP to customers comprising three sets of deliverables:

Architecture Evaluation Design Kit (AEDK)

  • This kit is designed for the evaluation of CPU performance and the development of application software. It contains development tools and simulators that enable users to write application software and benchmark it on the SuperH CPU core simulators or development boards.

Hard or Synthesizable Core Design Kits, (HCDK and SCDK)

  • These kits include the actual scripts, test structures and RTL for the CPU core.
