systems. They incorporate the M32R CPU, a compact CPU core that delivers
excellent performance. The M32R family is an ideal system solution for

equipment, digital imaging equipment, and portable consumer products.
M32R/ECU Series
Incorporating a superb array of peripheral and novel functions and a
high-speed high-performance 32bit CISC CPU with a maximum operating frequency
of 50MHz, the H8SX family implements great improvements in user system
throughput.
H8SX/1500 Series | H8SX/1600 Series | H8SX/1700 Series
The four groups of products which make up the Tiny series have been created
to help realize a safer and more convenient lifestyle. These MCUs are all known
by the nickname, "Tiny".
H8/Tiny
This family is supported only for the customers who have already adopted any
of the products. For new adoption, please consider other products such as M16C
Family.
7900 Series
The 740 Family covers all your system needs with a variety of features such
as a control-use instruction set, sophisticated peripheral functions and
low-power consumption. Now debuting the QzROM version.
38000/740 Series | R38F Series | 7200 Series
4-bit microcontrollers featuring low-voltage operation and low-power
consumption, specifically geared for remote control applications, mini home
appliances, PC peripherals, battery chargers, etc. Now debuting the QzROM
version.
4500/720 Series
Due to environmental regulations and the increasing importance of energy
saving, home appliances which make use of energy efficient inverter control
technology are coming onto the market. Inverter control technology, defined
simply, means energy efficient control technology which controls and inverts
direct current (DC) into the most suitable alternating current (AC) for a
system. As Renesas has an abundant lineup of Microcontrollers which are
suitable for inverter control, it is possible for us to meet a variety of
demands and provide support to customers.
Renesas Technology provides PLC (Power Line Communication) MCUs, which offer
communications solutions that require no new wiring.
M16C/60 Series (PLC)
The microcomputers listed on this page add tuning functions such as OSD,
PWM, and A/D conversion to the 8-bit 740 CPU core. In particular, a large
number of models integrating the closed caption decoding CCD function for North
American TV broadcasts are available. Renesas has also developed models based
on the high-performance 16-bit M16C/60 series CPU core that incorporate CCD and
OSD functions.
M16C/60 Series (TV) | 7200 Series
Renesas supplies 16-bit MCUs specifically developed for VCR/DVD
applications. These MCUs feature high C-programming efficiency, high-speed
processing, and low-power consumption.
M16C/60 Series (DVD)
Optimal OSD controller for programming display in AV systems such as TV,
VCR, and BS tuners, as well as adjustment menu displays on TFT/PDP monitors.
Renesas even has a low-voltage version for handheld devices such as digital
cameras.
