The devices in the R8C/2E, 2F, 2G, 2H, 2J, 2K and 2L groups raise the total number of products in the low-pin-count product line to 268 devices in 26 groups, giving engineers more choices for optimizing their embedded system designs. Now they can select appropriate feature sets for reducing system cost by eliminating or minimizing external components. Microcomputers in the R8C/2E, R8C/2F, R8C/2G, R8C/2K, and R8C/2L groups have a 32-pin LQFP package and are recommended for power supply, motor control, and similar applications. Devices in the R8C/2H and R8C/2J groups have a smaller 20-pin LSSOP package. The new products include the first R8C/Tiny models to feature a D/A converter and comparator in a 32-pin package: the devices in the R8C/2E and R8C/2F groups. There are also devices with reduced functionality for cost-sensitive applications: the devices in the R8C/2G, R8C/2H, and R8C/2J groups. The microcomputers in the R8C/2K and R8C/2L groups provide a three-channel 16-bit timer with an input-capture and output-compare function suitable for electric-motor control applications. They are ideal for controlling 3-phase AC motors because they have both a three-phase PWM output and a three-phase pulse input control. |
