Overview
Motion sensors (MD) are often used to switch on lights when a person enters a room, by using infrared sensors to detect body heat. A motion detector may itself possess a lighting control function, or it may send a signal to a central control panel that controls the lights.
Renesas' 8/16-bit microcontrollers that are equipped with ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) for interfacing with the infrared sensors, and other necessary functions, offer a range of solutions for motion detectors in a lighting system.
