Facial Steamer

Overview

Facial steamers are a type of beauty device that generate negatives ions and water vapor to apply moisture to dry skin and hair. Since they can be easily used at home, their popularity is increasing in recent years. The vapor generated comes in various types, and may contain platinum or mildly acidic ions, or alternate stimulation by warm steam and cold micromist.

Facial steamers also need to be equipped with safety features such as auto power-off during prolonged continuous operation. Circuits for controlling the amount of negative ions and vapor generated are also necessary.

To help designers realize these functions Renesas offers the 16-bit microcontroller R8C Family and the RL78 Family. In addition, we offer a variety of general-purpose semiconductors for use in microcontroller peripherals or drive circuits in order to meet our customers' needs.

In particular, the R8C/3xC Series has a built-in timer (PWM), A/D converter, and other functions required by facial steamers. Furthermore, since an on-chip oscillator is also built in, external parts and cost can be reduced.
