Overview
In recent years, the number of high-end, multifunctional IH rice cooker is increasing. Yet, the conventional electric rice cookers using electric heater remains popular for its affordable price. Electric rice cookers use microcontrollers to set the time for cooking rice. In addition, some electric rice cookers have multiple sensors to control heat and timing depending on the user’s preference of the softness of rice, how well the rice is milled, and keep the rice warm after it is cooked.
Renesas offers the 78K0/Lx3 and the R8C/Lx Series microcontrollers with an A/D converter for sensor input and an LCD driver which are ideal for electric rice cookers.
